Senior Editor, Halle Harper
Halle Harper is the senior editor for Beyond Thought and is proud to be one of the founding members of the journal. She is a junior English major at UNLV. As a child, she discovered a love of books, and that passion continued on to her adulthood. When her nose isn’t stuck in a book, she is watching movies, geeking out online, making short films, and writing books that will hopefully see the light of day. She hopes to one day start a publishing house and considers her current position as a big step toward it.

Parlida Beck
Managing Editor / co-Marketing Manager / Web & Graphic Design Team
Parlida Beck is a marketing major in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Parlida is the managing editor, co-marketing manager, and a member of the web & graphic design team here at Beyond Thought. She has a passion for digital and social media marketing and hopes to enrich her experience while also connecting with others who share similar interests.
Parlida values all different forms of art and loves the idea of art being a form of expression. Her goal is to grow an inclusive community that encourages artists to express themselves and share their artwork. She appreciates being part of an amazing team and hopes to contribute by helping the journal flourish and reach its fullest potential.
Bianca Haifley, 2D/3D Art co-editor/Event Team Co-manager /creative Non-fiction editor
Bianca Haifley is the co-editor of 2D/3D art with the Beyond Thought Journal. She is a senior English Literature major and hopes to provide a judicious voice in order to showcase the immense creative talents of the University. As co-editor of 2D/3D Art, she couples interdisciplinary aesthetic values with a passion for fresh, transgressive, voice to promote innovative artists. She is extremely thankful to be involved in highlighting her prodigious contemporaries who are willing to share their rare talent with the broader academic community. She hopes the Beyond Thought Journal can enrich the lives of the student body by aggrandizing the inclusive space in which art is celebrated and discussed.
Sydney Stoddard
Associate Editor / Web & Graphic Design Manager / Blog Manager/ co-copy editor
In love with people, words, and justice, Sydney Stoddard finds a home at Beyond Thought as associate editor, blog manager and the web and graphic design manager. Sydney is an English major at UNLV and the creative mind behind SS Creative Co., her very own web design and copywriting business. In her spare time, you can find her meeting friends, reviewing video games, and advocating for anti-trafficking organizations. She believes there’s a good story to be told anywhere and is all about pulling magic out of the mundane. Whether the story comes to her via words, pixels, pages, or brushes—she’s all in. Rita Alhwayek, Fiction Editor
Rita Alhwayek is an undergraduate student working on a biology major and a French minor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is planning on attending medical school after graduation and going on to become a forensic pathologist. Rita has been passionate about reading and writing since she was a young child, which prompted her decision to major in English literature before finally choosing biology instead. Now, to fulfill her love of literature, she works as Beyond Thought’s fiction editor. She hopes to encourage others to pursue their passions by providing an outlet for their recognition. During her free time, Rita enjoys reading, drawing, playing video games, and doing yoga.
Ji Hye (grace) Park, Event Team Co-Manager / Web & graphic Design Team
Ji Hye Park is the event team manager as well as a member of the web & graphic design team. She reviews the applicants’ works and illustrates visual concepts by designing rough layouts. She communicates with the team manager and other members to accomplish work with regards to design style, format, journal production and timescales. She has a B.S. in Biochemistry, M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Science at UNLV. She is currently a Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Med student. Her career goal is to practice medicine, teach and conduct research. Ji Hye’s hobbies include tea drinking, meditation, yoga, and volunteering.

Jennifer Molina is also a member of the web and graphic design, marketing, and blog teams here at Beyond Thought.
Jannierose Garcia

JannieRose Princess Garcia is a senior in the communication studies program with an emphasis in journalism. As the co-marketing manager, co-copy editor, a graphic design team member, and a 2D/3D art reviewer, Beyond Thought became an opportunity for her to professionally mesh her creative side with her communication skills. Her desire to encourage collaboration, thoughtful discussion, creative thinking, and overall engagement serves for the success of the journal and the purpose of fostering an environment where members develop an understanding of each other’s preferences and ways of thinking. To compliment this, JannieRose has a deep appreciation of art and beauty she sees reflected within ourselves, the people we love, the work we create, the conversations we have, and the vulnerability we express. She enjoys art in fashion, photography, paintings, music, art installations, and more. JannieRose strives to use her passion for people and the arts towards the flourishing of Beyond Thought.
